Silly Goal Met
So I had a silly goal I set for myself, and I met it today. The goal was to run to the new Braums that opened in town, buy something, and then run back. It was a little farther than I thought, but it was a fantastic day to run. It is starting to warm up and everything is turning green. I was just going to get a little Gatorade or something, but the only thing they sold was milk products and some little bottles of water.
My foot is almost not bothering me at all. In fact, I have been playing quite a bit of tennis recently which in my opinion is tougher on the feet than running long distances, because of the stopping and starting quickly.
The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the fact that with Spring comes the chances of running across a snake.

The Absence....
So I have not had a new blog post on here in quite a while. Simple fact is that I have not run recently. The reason there... I kind of fractured the right side of my right foot with a palate jack at work. It's not a big deal... it still hurts to wear flip flops but I have gone 3 miles since then and have been playing alot of tennis this week.... So that is good. I am also about 10 lbs. lighter than when I began this blog about 2 months ago.
All in all things are looking up!

I did it 2 days Late
So I finally completed my goal for the month of February, of Completing 3 continuous miles. I started off very well and at a good pace, even with the wind at about 7miles a hour. I still got chased by those mean mean dogs who snip at my heals. And completed my course with a little strain at the end... BUT I FINISHED WITHOUT ONE HESITANT STEP.
It felt really good. I actually almost kept going but decided not to because of time constraints.
I really need to find another path, both 3 miles and a good 5 mile so that:
A.) I'm not bothered by those dogs that want to eat me.
B.) Can focus on my March Goal of a Continuous 5 miles.
We will see.

I Want to Go Fast
So a few days ago I went for a short run and took my brother with me to time my progress; helping me with my pacing. I ran 4 400s in 8 mins. That is pretty good for me being as out of shape as I am. I would like to get that down to 7 mins but I'm not going to focus on that goal for a while.
I havn't ran a long distance in a while. I will probably go later on today after I wake up and get going. I also have been watching what im eating; maybe that will help.

Heavy
Still trying for that 3 mile mark. Today I only made it 2 miles, but I had fewer 20yrd breathers along the way. Today was tough because of my mentality. I weighed myself before I ran and found out that I'm about 15lbs heavier than when I stopped running in the fall... holidays are rough. lol.
This "knowledge" made running hard today, because I just felt heavier like it was harder to run today.
The dogs where out again. I don't want to take action but they got closer today than yesterday.

I Hate Mad Dogs
So I went for a little job this afternoon, being that I didn't have to work today. I made it about 2 1/2 miles although I feel like I am getting close to 3. I just need to suck it up and go that far just to do it.
Some problems today:
Very Windy. Probably 10-15 mph winds... maybe not that fast but still windy none the less.
AND, One of the farm houses on the route let their dogs out today... they were pissed that I was there. I have seen snakes, wild boar, deer, coyotes, and fox while running, but loose dogs are scary too. I use to carry a can of mace with me but I think I will see if this is a continual thing before I take any action. I just don't want to get bit.
Any tips, and clicks on the Ads by Google would be greatly appreciated.

First Time in a While
History Lesion: I am not a strong swimmer. Nor a strong runner. Last year I was geared up to run a marathon but was unable to get close to running one. I ended up running over 250 miles in training in one pair of shoes.
This year I plan on running more miles although I am not sure if I am going to try for the marathon again.
I need new shoes. ha ha
Anyways today was the first day of my month long adventure. It was a great day to run. The temperature was about 60 degrees outside, sunny and bright. It is winter time so I don't have to worry about snakes or anything... that is always a fear of mine.
I ended up running 2 1/2 miles. My immediate goal is to get to a steady 3 miles by the end of the month. I think that is a good realistic goal, because I know tomorrow will be very difficult.
